Still haven’t checked “do more good deeds” off your New Year’s Resolutions list? Is it baaaahthering you? A Virginia farm is offering the chance to give your time to a great cause: goat snuggling.

Caromont Farm, a goat cheese farm in Esmont, Virginia, expects around 90 new baby goats to join their herd over the next month. Upon arrival, the kids will need almost instant bottle-feeding, and food goes down best with a side of snuggling. That’s where the volunteers come in.

“It’s going to be a really happy and a really hectic time,” Isabella Zechini, the farm’s event coordinator, told NBC News. Volunteers will be expected to help with the four-a-day bottle feedings, check on the goats in their pens, and make sure they are warm enough in their tiny goat sweaters.

Hey! Wanna snuggle with some baby goats? They might even be wearing sweaters. Starting in February, Caromont Farm…

“Anyone can volunteer,” NBC News assumes. “You don’t need any kind of prior experience.”

As of press time, you do need a time machine–the signup sheet is already full. But goat fans can meet the in-demand kids at Caromont Farm’s newly announced Goatapalooza, which will feature “local tunes, cheese for sale, and tons of baby goats running amuck” [sic]. That is, if the volunteers do a good enough job.

Every day, we track down a fleeting wonder—something amazing that’s only happening right now. Have a tip for us? Tell us about it! Send your temporary miracles to cara@atlasobscura.com.
