The video above takes the phrase “shredding a guitar solo” a little too literally, and actually puts an electric guitar through a powerful industrial shredder. 

Even if you have never played the guitar, this is painful to watch. The instrument even appears to put up a fight at the start, which makes its ultimate demise all the more heartbreaking. 

The gleeful destruction is just one installment in the “Shred of the Week” series, in which industrial shredder manufacturer SSI pulverizes household items, appliances, and, in one particularly memorable case, a Volkswagen Bug.
