A Love Affair With Lager: Colorado's Beer History from an Expert Insider

Discover Colorado's hidden beer history. Enjoy craft beer from its oldest brewery. Learn how to taste beer like a pro.

Sam Bock would die without beer... or maybe just have to change careers. Join us for an insider look into Colorado's hops history with a man who has dedicated his life to lager!

We'll gather at The Tivoli, for an in-depth talk and Q & A with History Colorado's resident beer historian. Sam will give us a preview of a special exhibit that won't go public until summer 2018.  We'll learn how the beer industry started, original ingredients and methods, dirty politics, prohibition and its legacy, and interesting beer esoterica.

After the talk, we'll enjoy a flight of small-batch beers from Denver's very first brewery, get tasting tips from a resident expert,  and, if we're lucky, peek into its historic tap room. Oh and did we mention beers will be buy-one-get-one for our group? We can't think of a better way to warm up for the Great American Beer Festival - can you?
