Not for the arachnophobic! Join us for a private insect safari at the Audubon Canyon Ranch's Martin Griffin Preserve near Stinson Beach.
Birds, bats, and spiders all call the 1,000 acres of Martin Griffin Preserve in West Marin home. We'll be exploring with their in-house arachnid experts for a special look at some of the park's smaller, many-legged inhabitants.
October is when the charismatic orb weavers are getting big in preparation to make their egg sacs and die. Learn to spot a variety of different spiders on an educational hike focused on local spiders and their unique webs.
Pack a lunch, a magnifying glass, and a interest in creepy crawlers.

Location & Directions
The Martin Griffin Preserve of Audubon Canyon Ranch is located at 4900 Shoreline Highway One between the towns of Stinson Beach and Bolinas in west Marin County, California. The Martin Griffin Preserve also houses ACR's headquarters.
Option One: Take Highway 101 north from San Francisco, or south from San Rafael to the Highway One/Stinson Beach exit. Follow approximately 12 miles to Stinson Beach. Continue 3 1/2 miles north to the preserve gate on right hand side of the highway.
Option Two: Take Highway 101 north from San Francisco, or south from San Rafael to the Sir Francis Drake Boulevard Exit. Follow Sir Francis Drake Blvd. northwest for about 21 miles to Olema. Turn south (left) on Highway 1 and follow for about 10 miles to Bolinas Lagoon. Preserve will be on the left approximately 1 mile further.
