The Boring Store at 826CHI

Don’t be fooled by the giant, bright orange awning screaming, “The Boring Store!”...Or the signs telling you not to bother entering...or the ones telling you how “characterless,” “dreary,” and “mundane” the space is.

Once inside, The Boring Store, has every gadget a secret agent could need: secret disguises, carrier pigeons, voice modulators, and of course - umbrellas masked as samurai swords (a super spy necessity!).

The profits from all this craziness goes to support the 826Chicago, the children’s writing workshop and tutoring center attached to the store. It is one of eight branches in the 826 National family. Other stores include the Pirate Supply Store in Valencia, the Echo Park Time Travel Mart, and Ann Arbor’s Liberty Street Robot Supply & Repair.
