The anatomical collection of the University of Siena includes many medical drawings–including some of Leonardo da Vinci’s–a large collection of wax anatomical models, eight hundred skulls, a collection of pathological fetuses and some of the more disturbing anatomical models ever made.

Descended from the collection of famous anatomist Paulo Mascagni, the collection is perhaps most celebrated for its dried anatomical specimens, of which there are over a thousand.
