Site of St. Anthony's Feast

Each August, one of the largest religious (and food) celebrations in the country is held in Boston

14

Boston's North End is one of the most vibrant "Little Italy" communities in the country.

Although the current population of the North End is well below fifty percent Italian, the culture and heritage from many distinct regions of Italy are still celebrated with parades and feasts throughout the year. St. Anthony’s Feast, coordinated by the San Antonio Di Padova Da Montefalcione social club, is the largest italian religious festival in New England.

Italian immigrants from Montefalcione in Avellino began this tradition in 1919. In addition to the ten hour procession of the statue of Saint Anthony through the streets of the North End, you can enjoy over 100 food carts, street decorations, and outdoor entertainment. Saint Anthony’s Feast is held annually on the weekend of the last Sunday in August.
