Howdy, I am Wick Sakit. I am a lifelong artist based in Portland that dabbles in many fields but my main area of focus is photography. It kicked into gear for me through a program called, "College for Kids," when I was in elementary school where I first experienced darkroom technique. From there I went through many point and shoots throughout my years of travel from the age 15 on. I never gave much attention to friends telling me that I always took the best photos. Just a simple thanks and then I'd give them a copy. Back when everybody printed everything out. I got my taste of fashion photography in New York in the mid-90's working as a model in which I believe helped tone my eye for capturing light sharing my unique vision with others. I since went to work with sculpture for many years following that but due to an accident was unable to continue. This lead me to pick up the camera in a more serious context than before as I have an insatiable need for creative output. I fell in love. Less than a year later I was showing in galleries in Oakland, California and getting my submissions picked on National Geographic's Daily Dozen as well as other fabulous websites. I became an uncontrollable beast with the camera! It was always in my hand. It still is. I travel the world shooting street/life and landscape photography as well as capture portraits primarily in the world of International Dance.
