Today we're taking the WOW Machine back in time 66 million years! We'll be learning all about Chicxulub, the enormous crater formed by the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs. With a force of 100 million megatons of TNT (that's 2 million times stronger than the most powerful man-made bomb), the asteroid that struck the earth here created a crater 90 miles wide and 12 miles deep. At the Chicxulub Museum, we'll discover how this cosmic event led to the demise of the dinosaurs and reshaped our planet forever. Afterward, we'll head to El Corchito Ecological Reserve for a refreshing dip.

Our archaeological explorations continue with a visit to Chichén Itzá! Wandering amidst the ruins of this ancient Maya metropolis, we'll let our imaginations roam amidst monuments where high priests once made sacred sacrifices. From the soaring El Castillo pyramid to the astronomical observatory, be transported through centuries of Maya mythology and history. Leaving the ancient city behind, we'll cool off with a swim at a nearby cenote, then continue on Valladolid, a gorgeous colonial town hidden deep in the Yucatan jungle.
