Behind the closed doors of this legendary clubhouse awaits a treasure trove of artifacts collected over a century of expeditions to the far corners of the earth (and beyond).
Founded in 1904 to promote and celebrate the scientific exploration of land, sea, air and space, the Explorers Club has an undeniably impressive list of members. The first man to reach the North Pole, the South Pole, the summit of Mount Everest, the bottom of the ocean, even the moon: all have been esteemed members of this incredibly prestigious and exclusive club.
Join us February 5, 2016 for an extremely rare opportunity to spend an intimate night within the Explorers Club's hallowed walls. We'll be taking an in-depth look at the club's rich and storied past with a carefully curated line up of lectures, screenings and craft cocktails set amongst the maps, manuscripts, trophies and artifacts of history's greatest expeditions and most tragic failed explorations.
Yeti Dreamscape, an immersive installation set in the Trophy Room of the Explorers Club, invites weary visitors to recline in a comfortable tent while interacting with a surreal dream about Sir Edmund Hillary's quest for the mythic cryptozoological creature of the Himalayas. The installation was created by Alex Reeves of the interactive studio Moonpool with a soundscape by Eliot Krimsky and Alex Reeves.
