One of the longest-running puppet theaters in the country, The Bob Baker Marionette Theater has been delighting, charming, and amazing people of all ages with its nearly 3,000 handmade marionettes for five decades. During this exclusive Obscura Day event we'll see Hooray LA—a show that portrays the history of the City Of Angeles through whimsical vignettes—and then go behind the red velvet curtain to explore the magic of marionettes.
Until recently, the future of Bob Baker Marionette Theater was uncertain. Their building was sold to a real estate developer in 2012, with plans for a large apartment building. A recent update reveals that, to our great joy and delight, Bob Baker is in LA to Stay.
