Block Printing Workshop with Assembly PDX

Learn an age-old printmaking technique in this hands-on course.

Block printing is one of the most ancient types of printmaking and is an excellent way to make something truly by hand that can also be very easily replicated.

In this hands-on class, you will create your own design and pattern based on basic geometric shapes, carve your block, and explore printing on various materials to make stunning stationery, journals, and dish towels. Take your new block home with you and continue printing on everything in sight!

Our workshop will take place at Shout House and will be hosted by Liz and Brian Wright of Assembly PDX. Founded in 2016, Assembly hosts hands-on modern craft and DIY workshops in the Portland, Oregon area. The workshops and classes, covering a wide variety of crafts, are perfect for beginners and designed to empower creativity and pique interest in potential new hobbies.

All materials, supplies, and instruction will be provided along with complimentary refreshments and snacks.
