Coalition Brewery Tour

Coalition Brewery explains their new experiment in flavor profiles combining cannabis flowers and hops.

The Portland Obscura Society is excited to kick off with a series of behind-the-scene tours to celebrate its launch. Portland is a city rife with an oddball history, a rich food culture and a thriving art scene—and we're excited to share these stories, places, and people.

Coalition Brewery is one of dozens of breweries in Portland, but the first to combine the flavor profiles and effects of hops with cannabis. Their new brew “Two Flowers” blends hops and marijuana buds for a unique flavor profile and buzz. The brewery’s calling card is finding harmony in distinct flavors. They also pride themselves in pulling ingredients from the region—hops from the Willamette Valley, malts from across the Columbia River in Vancouver, Washington, and water from the Bull Run Watershed. This tour will provide a seminar on how the local environment and agriculture combine to bring fresh beer flavors.

Hosted by Portland Obscura Society Chapter Head Phil Busse and led by marketing director Phil Boyle, this tour and tasting will position “Two Flowers” as part of Coalition Brewery's emerging line of classic and distinct brews. Join us at this up-and-coming east-side brewery for an education on what makes Portland’s beer industry exciting and unique.
