Concert and Workshop of Traditional Kazakh Instruments

Come see a concert and demonstration by the Babalar Sazy Ensemble and learn the history behind each instrument and the story behind each piece of music.

For Obscura Day, experience a traditional musical instrument concert and demonstration hosted by the Kazakh Geographic Society.

On Saturday, May 6 at 3pm in Almaty's Zhas Sahna Theater, enjoy the impressive music of the Babalar Sazy Ensemble. The musicians will be explaining the history behind each of their instruments and story behind each piece of music. The concert will be hosted in both Russian and English, and the explanations will also be in both languages.

Especially for expats and visitors to Almaty, this is a unique opportunity to gain better insight into traditional Kazakh music.
