Where better to engage in a night of mystery and magic than a nearly century-old library, surrounded by the works of the world's most illuminating spiritualists, thinkers, and ponderers?
Join Atlas Obscura and the Philosophical Research Society for the first in a new series of events focusing on the craft and heart of magic in one of Los Angeles's hidden historical treasures. Gather at the Philosophical Research Society Library for an intimate and deep exploration into the mind of one of the greatest performing magicians today, surrounded by more than 50,000 beautiful volumes of works of philosophy. This event, curated exclusively for the Atlas Obscura community, comprises a live performance from world-renowned magician Mike Pisciotta, through which attendees will experience his latest work, passions, and obsessions.
Mike Pisciotta is the current "Parlor Magician of the Year" and a two-time winner of the prestigious "Close-Up Magician of the Year" distinction, awarded by the Academy of Magical Arts. He also serves as the resident magician at the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. Mike creates performances that leave the audience with a profound sense of wonder.
