Design Panoptikum Photography Workshop

Grab your camera and get creative in this "space carnival" collection of Frankenstein-esque historical industrial objects with owner and artist Vlad.

This will be a photography workshop truly unlike any other—your models will be body parts attached to retro-tech and medical equipment married to items from eras past and future.

This Obscura Day, adventure into Design Panoptikum, a Museum of Extraordinary Objects, with your camera in hand. The museum is your artistic oyster—what photographic creations can you produce? From eerie figures and furnishings and peculiar everyday items to historical objects from the fields of aviation, film, and more, the options are endless. Whether you choose to highlight the historical or whimsical, spooky or fantastical is up to you.

Ensconced within this “space carnival atmosphere,” you and your lens will undertake an exercise in logic, creativity, and fantasy. Design Panoptikum's owner/artist Vlad will give you a personal tour of the space and be available to answer any questions about the objects and installations and the stories behind them. Perhaps you can even convince him to step into one of your photos.

  • There will be two workshop sessions: 1pm and 4pm. Please select a time when you purchase your event ticket.
  • Make sure to bring a camera!
