Philadelphia's Olney neighborhood is one of the most ethnically diverse communities in Pennsylvania, and that diversity is reflected in the food culture of the main business district of North 5th Street. Join us on a journey to discover the hidden treasures of what many consider an underrated culinary corner of the city. We'll taste a panorama of ethnic eats from Asia, Latin & Central America, the Caribbean, Europe, and the United States. Along the way, we'll meet and chat with various business owners. Attendees will receive complimentary tote and take-home bags for anything you can't finish! Foods sampled include vegetables, meats, and gluten, so please let us know if you have dietary restrictions.
About North 5th Street Revitalization Project
Tours are jointly lead by North 5th Street Revitalization Project(N5SRP) and Olney Culture Lab of CultureTrust Greater Philadelphia. N5SRP's mission is to manage, promote, and revitalize North 5th Street in Olney as a thriving commercial district for area shoppers, residents and visitors. N5SRP was founded by Olney residents, merchants, and the Korean Community Development Services Center in 2005 as a focused reinvestment toward North 5th Street’s primary commercial hub, located at 5th and Olney Avenue. In 2008, N5SRP hired a full-time Corridor Manager and Sanitation Specialist with funding from the Philadelphia Commerce Department to better support the businesses and keep 5th street clean.
