For Obscura Day, seize a rare chance to visit each of the famous Illusion Rooms and all the other areas of Puzzling World that have helped it to become among the world’s weirdest places. On this unique guided tour, find out about the history, development, inspiration, and science behind this remarkable attraction.
Among the things you'll explore: Puzzling World's Tilted House, the Following Faces that seemingly track your every move, and the real reason legions of Lord of the Rings fans still visit their Ames Room (hint: it has to do with dwarfs and giants.) You'll also find out how their Leaning Tower of Wanaka sits perched at an incredible 53-degree angle. The tour will end with a hot drink and Obscura Day toast, after which you can continue exploring on your own.
- The tour begins at 1 p.m. (A second tour will open at 2 p.m. if there is overflow.)
- Tickets are $24 NZD for adults and $16.80 NZD for children (age 5–15). Those visiting for Obscura Day will also receive a hot drink at the conclusion of the tour as part of their ticket price.
- Sorry–no children under 5 years old.
