The Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum of Barcelona presents the wonderful world of cannabis at its best.
This Obscura Day, join us for a guided tour in English that will take guests through a new temporary exhibition on cannabis cuisine, followed by a tasting of cava and hemp chocolate at the museum's gallery. There, we'll have the chance to discuss the best ways to add hemp to our daily diet.
Set in Palau Mornau, a stunning edifice built in the 15th century and remodeled by Modernista architect Manuel Raspall in 1908, a guided tour in the museum is a trip through the past, present and future of this amazingly versatile plant and founder Ben Dronkers' personal cannabis culture treasures, gathered from around the world for over the last 40 years.
The museum combines the history, science, industry, art and culture of cannabis in an unique way, and there is truly something for everyone. Art lovers will be delighted by the original 17th century paintings and the psychedelic political posters from the 60s. Scientists can explore the medicine room which holds one of the world's largest collections of medicinal cannabis bottles dating back to the 19th century. And engineers can awe over the products developed and produced with industrial hemp. A unique permanent exhibition discusses the development of the cannabis plant as a versatile source for industrial, nutritional, medicinal, sacramental and recreational purposes. The collection consists of rare items that founder Ben Dronkers, over the past forty years, collected throughout the world—see more here.
