Kyiv is a truly remarkable place—and at this Obscura Day event, you’ll be invited to learn about its hidden history of war and revolution.
On a four-hour guided walk through the city centre, you’ll hear about the countless conflicts that have shaped the Ukrainian capital: from the early conquests of the Kievan Rus, to the 1917 Socialist Revolution; and from the Great Patriotic War (the local name for WWII), to Ukraine’s more recent 2014 Maidan Revolution.
Throughout the tour you’ll be looked after by friendly, English-speaking guides. These local Ukrainians know Kyiv inside out, and as they lead you through the city’s past they will be glad to share their own stories along the way. Better than any museum, you will learn about Ukraine’s struggle for independence from people who took part in it themselves.
At the end of the tour, your guides will lead you up to a rooftop in the city centre—to sit back, and take in the perfect aerial view of Kyiv.
