As part of the 16th Annual Las Vegas Book Festival, Atlas Obscura co-founder Dylan Thuras will be giving a presentation of highlights from the New York Times bestseller Atlas Obscura: An Explorer's Guide to the World's Hidden Wonders.
Join us for this free event at the Historic Fifth Street School to hear all about a giant flaming hole in the Turkmenistan desert, Japanese monks who mummify themselves, bridges made of aerial tree roots, and much, much more.
Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A and book signing. Copies of Atlas Obscura: An Explorer's Guide to the World's Hidden Wonders will be available for purchase.
For your own adventuring, there is also the new Explorer's Journal, which includes a brief guide, with maps, to finding the hidden magic in a dozen of the world's most interesting cities, from New York to Shanghai to Budapest to Tokyo to Cairo.
The event is free and does not require tickets.
