Last Call in Boulder: The History of a Dry City

Explore the history of Boulder from dry city through the current explosion in home brewing, with samples along the way.

Join Atlas Obscura Society Denver and the Museum of Boulder as we explore why Boulder had one of the longest unbroken prohibitions against alcohol in the U.S. We'll hear about the stills that were captured, the bootleggers who were busted, and why Boulder prohibited alcohol for an incredible 60 years. Next, we'll taste some homebrew samples as we learn about how Boulder transformed from teetotaler to home brew heavy hitter.

Finally, we'll learn about the home brewing immersion in Boulder before finally heading to License No. 1, the first bar to receive a formal liquor license when Boulder's love affair with prohibition went bust.
