They’re quick, they’re clever, they’re masters of disguise and every year public radio program Science Friday dedicates a week to them. Now in its third year, Cephalopod Week is a celebration of all things tentacled!
The New York Obscura Society and Science Friday are teaming up to kick it off with an evening of talk, tentacles, and merriment, featuring two live movie premieres at the Sea Witch in Brooklyn. Come rub elbows with SciFri super host Ira Flatow and get a chance to see two brand new SciFri short films, and one classic from the SciFri vault, all about these amazing, adaptive, and sometimes creepy creatures.
You'll join other Obscura Society members and Science Friday listeners for this very special screening and talk with Ira, sip the special squid ink cocktail made especially for this evening (if you're feeling adventurous), and engage in riveting conversation as you enjoy scenes of giant octopus attacks from 1950's cult classic film.
