Join us at the Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum this Obscura Day for an open house!
Located on the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan, the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum is the only museum dedicated to the preservation, study, production and printing of wood type. The museum is run by staff and volunteers from the Two Rivers Historical Society, and is home to over 1.5 million pieces of wood type and more than a thousand styles and sizes of patterns.
This Obscura Day, Hamilton is hosting their annual open house. Activities offered will include tours of the museum, demonstrations on the pantograph, and poster printing with the public. You are welcome to explore the museum independently or participate in guided tours, which will be conducted at 1 and 3 pm. You are also invited to participate in the printing of a poster that includes some of Hamilton's collection of vintage wood type - the poster will be yours to keep!
Saturday, May 30; 1:00 - 5:00pm
Ticket Cost: Free, but please remember to RSVP!
