Join us at Eliphante Village to experience a hand-made sculptural wonderland!
Named for the elephant-like entrance to one of the structures, Eliphante started as an imaginative sculptural home built by artist Michael Kahn and his wife Leda Livant in 1979. The home was the first of a series of mixed media structures created of found materials on the three acre property over a period of 28 years. Listed as a part of the Smithsonian's SOS initiative (Save Outdoor Sculptures), Eliphante is a truly unique example of outsider architecture.
This Obscura Day, Eliphante Village has invited us to come experience this truly unusual and inspiring property with guided tours taking place at 12:00pm and 2:00pm.
As a member-supported, all-volunteer non-profit organization, membership is required for event participation. Your ticket cost goes directly towards Eliphante Village membership and the preservation and restoration of this amazing, kaleidoscopic, outdoor environment.
