The Troll Hole in Alliance, Ohio is home to an astounding number of troll dolls. The world-record-holding collection is managed by lifelong enthusiast Sherry Groom, who has amassed thousands of the tufty little creatures, as well as more than 10,000 related objects. No two dolls are alike, and the number continues to grow.
Sherry leads tours of the museum of herself, in character as Sigrid the “Queen of Trolls.” On Obscura Day, follow her (and her tail) through the heavily-populated shelves and display cases to hear fantastical stories about both the real and imagined lives of the troll dolls. Before you leave, you’ll have a chance to design your own tiny companion - perhaps the beginning of your own troll museum.
