Obscura Day 2016: Murals of the Gabba Arts District with Cartwheel Art Tours

Join us as we explore a labyrinth of vibrant murals in the alleyways of Historic Filipinotown with Cindy Schwarzstein, founder of Cartwheel Art Tours.

Over eighty murals canvas the alleyways, stairways, dumpsters, gated fences, and garage doors of Historic Filipinotown. Known as the Gabba Arts District, this dynamic neighborhood has attracted emerging and well-known street artists from across Los Angeles and around the world. Join us as we trek through the alleys of the Gabba Arts District with curator and Alley Project founder, Jason Ostro. We'll meet several of the artists, learn more about the history of the project, and discover how it's transformed the community. Recent press from LA Times and CBS News.
