Housed within a former Norwegian sailor's church in Red Hook, Brooklyn, the studio of multimedia artist Chico MacMurtrie is overrun with a hodgepodge collection of robot musicians awaiting activation.
Join us the evening of Tuesday, November 25 for a very special "live" orchestral performance of the Robotic Church, followed by a behind the scenes tour of MacMurtrie's workshop and a discussion of Amorphic Robot Work's past, current and future collective design projects.
The Robotic Church is an immersive experience featuring 42 kinetic robots ranging from 12 inches to 15 feet in size, hung from the walls, scattered on the floor, climbing to the ceiling and overpowering the space with an impressive cacophony of sound. Humanoid in form, each robot functions to perform a unique task, creating its own individual noise to contribute to the orchestral whole. The effect is awe-inspiring: this performance is truly one of a kind and not to be missed!
ADVANCE TICKETS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Tuesday, November 25; 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Amorphic Robot Works is located at 111 Pioneer Street, Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY 11231
Please arrive 5 or 10 minutes early for check in; a waiver of liability will need to be signed prior to the robotic performance.
