We've got first dibs on experiencing the breathtaking restoration of this renowned landmark building and we'd love for you to join us.
An iconic, monumental figure on the Brooklyn skyline since 1875, the Williamsburg Savings Bank was considered one of the most significant structures in America at the time of its construction and served as inspiration to a whole new generation of Beaux-Arts architects determined to replicate its beauty. As the decades passed, neglect took its toll on the historic structure and by the 21st century much of the intricate detail work of the building's once jaw-dropping interior had been damaged or destroyed.
Since purchasing the building in November 2010, new owners Juan A. Figueroa and Carlos Perez San Martin have been painstakingly engaged in a total restoration of the building, adhering strictly to the highest standards for historical preservation. With a meticulous attention to historic accuracy and detail, the newly renamed Weylin B. Seymour's has been lovingly restored by a team of skilled craftsmen and specialty artisans hailing from around the world, all working together to return the beloved structure to the grandeur of its glory years.
In an exclusive opportunity to view this monumental beauty in an intimate manner before it officially opens as a private, high-end event space, Weylin B. Seymour's has invited the New York Obscura Society to partake in an in-depth tour of the historic bank and its extensive restoration process. From the discovery of an incredible fresco entirely hidden on the 110-foot dome under a coating of thick black paint to the rarity and whimsy of the building's fully operational Bird Cage elevator, the Williamsburg Savings Bank is truly an architectural treasure and this exclusive tour is not to be missed.
