Join us for a very special pre-Valentine's Day date as we explore a bizarre assortment of antiquated instruments and ideas used over the ages in the pursuit of health and pleasure.
Denny Daniel and his roving Museum of Interesting Things will be taking over Greenpoint's Broken Land bar February 12 for a hands-on evening as we delve into a vintage world of quack medicine and pseudoscience. From the magnetic to the electric, the odd to the inappropriate and the downright brutal; we'll be retracing the evolution of medical technology and techniques used in an ongoing quest to better understand the mysteries of the human body.
Featuring actual antique items dating back to the 1800's, you'll have the chance to see and touch a unique collection of devices once believed to be responsible for better health, a longer lifespan and erotic prowess.
