Expedition Press Tour & Printing Demo

Tour a working letterpress studio and experience a printing demonstration with antique presses and moveable type.

Expedition Press is a contemporary letterpress publisher in Kingston, Washington operated by artist Myrna Keliher. See our craft in action and watch the printing process unfold with moveable type, hundred year old presses, thick creamy paper and the sweet sweet smell of solid black ink. We’ll give an overview of relief printing techniques, share our design process with handset metal type, ink up a press, and pull some prints! We guarantee you’ll leave with a souvenir and an itch to get inky again soon.

Myrna Keliher holds a B.A. in Literary Arts from the Evergreen State College and completed a seven-year apprenticeship with Stern & Faye, Printers. Her work is exhibited nationally and internationally, and she travels regularly to teach, collaborate, and attend residencies.
