We are thrilled to be included at the upcoming Friday Nights at the de Young program showcasing the ongoing work of the "Urbanauts" urban infrastructure project featuring local artists Sean Orlando and Matthew Passmore (Rebar).
The theme of the evening is "1000 Leagues Under the City" and we'll be there to show off photos from some of the overlooked and unusual places we've explored and to provide a look at how to explore beyond the ordinary and find the wonders hidden just out of sight.
About Friday Nights at the de Young: "These after-hours art “happenings” that include a mix of live music, dance and theater performances, film screenings, panel discussions, lectures, artist demonstrations, hands-on art activities, and exhibition tours. Local artists conduct drop-in workshops, debut new commissions, display their art in the Kimball Education Gallery, and take part in conversations about the creative process. The café offers a delicious Friday Nights prix-fixe menu and specialty cocktails, and the observation tower is open until 8 pm. Artist Fellows, Artists-in-Residence, curators, scholars, and arts educators all play an active role in making Friday Nights an engaging museum experience for all."
