Join us on Friday, June 2nd at 826CHI for an evening of celebration, community, and Chicago history as we reflect on one year, 10 neighborhoods, 9 collaborators, and countless stories of everything from immigrant celery farmers and swampland, to theaters, ghosts, slaughterhouses, and glazed terra cotta.
- 7:00-7:30 p.m.: Arrival & BYOB cocktail reception. Light snacks will be provided!
- 7:30-8:30 p.m.: Collaborator panel: Hear from all of our past & present neighborhood correspondents including Amy Weber, Head of the Illinois Atlas Obscura Society, as they introduce themselves, talk about their neighborhoods, retell their favorite stories, and fill you in on what they're up to now. Your faithful tour guide, organizer, and founder Patti Swanson, as Field Agent for Atlas Obscura, will moderate.
- 8:30-9:00 p.m.: Q&A
- 9:00-10:00 pm Mingle, drink, chat, and meet other local history lovers! We'll also have a swag table where you'll be able to pick up leftover tour coupons, "Winter doesn't scare me" stickers, our handmade books, and more. Trade in your Certified History Lover punch cards for your limited-edition print, and make sure to check out the retail wares of our generous hosts, the Wicker Park Secret Agent Supply Co. At 10 p.m., we'll head to an after-party at Nick's Beer Garden.
This event, as always, is free and open to all—even if you've never attended a tour before!
