Abandoned islands in Newfoundland, giant river otters in the Amazon, ancient masquerade festivals in Bulgaria, yodeling tutelage in the Austrian Alps, the towering fortresses of Rajasthan, culinary underworlds of Mexico City... all this and more awaits you on Atlas Obscura's 2018 international adventures.
Join us in the back room of Fawkner in Brooklyn to learn more about our uniquely curated trips, meet past and prospective Atlas explorers, chat with Atlas staff, and consider what curiosities 2018 might have in store for you. You'll also have the chance to meet Dylan Thuras, co-founder of Atlas Obscura, and Ella Morton, author of our best-selling book, Atlas Obscura: An Explorer's Guide to the World's Hidden Wonders.
Join at your leisure, and stay as briefly or as long as you like. A short slideshow presentation will be given twice, first at 7 p.m. and then again at 8 p.m. for those arriving later. There will be plenty of time afterwards and in between to ask questions, enjoy food and cocktails, and hatch your upcoming adventures—perhaps even with the fellow Atlas Obscura explorer standing next to you.
- Please RSVP below; the event is free to all guests.
- Short presentation and slideshow will take place at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. in Fawkner's back room, followed by time for conversation and questions.
- Food and drinks will be available for purchase: See here for the menu.
