Rosehill Cemetery Walk

Take a stroll through history in Chicago's largest cemetery.

One of the oldest "garden cemeteries" in town, Rosehill is full of heroes, villains, and some lesser-known eccentrics, with some of the city's most captivating artwork.

Author and historian Adam Selzer leads a fascinating and often hilarious stroll through history. Hear the stories of the first journalist killed in war, the sister-in-law of John Wilkes Booth, a brewer caught up in the biggest sex scandal of 1862, a mayor who tried to repeal prohibition, many of Chicago's early movers and shakers, and the often-surprising ways their lives intersected.

Every tour is a bit different—there's always more to discover, and Adam just can't leave those curiosity doors locked!

Meeting Point

Meet Field Agent Adam Selzer inside the cemetery entrance, just behind the historic stone gates, at 5800 N. Ravenswood, at the corner of Rosehill and Ravenswood.

Lot or street parking is available. The closest public transit is the #22 Clark bus, which will drop you a few blocks away from the cemetery entrance.
