Scandal, Assassination, and Spies in Lafayette Square

Join former White House speechwriter Ed Moser as we wade into the swamp in front of Washington’s most famous residence.

The grassy Lafayette Square in front of the White House has been the site of over two centuries of noteworthy spectacles, and chaos. Perhaps because of its proximity to great power and wealth, the park seems to attract controversy like a moth to a flame.

Join us as we drain the swamp and wade into intriguing stories about the presidency and the federal city. Topics covered include the sex scandal that wiped out an entire cabinet, assassination conspiracies, duels, traitors, spies, and more.

Your guide, Ed Moser, is a former White House scribe, writer for the “Tonight Show,” historian, and professional tour guide. Moser is also the author of The Two-Term Jinx, Foundering Fathers, and America A to Z.

Additional Details:

  • Meet up in the shadow of the Andrew Jackson statue, at the center of Lafayette Square.
