What We’ll Do

Games pose a lot of challenges. How do you solve this? Who made this? Is there a trick? It’s kind of their reason for existing. Join Atlas Obscura, Uncommon Goods, and game designer Jonathan Bobrow (Move38) to learn the answers to these questions and more as we explore the secrets of the game masters!

During this hour-long online experience we’re going to follow the twists and turns of a game master’s strategy, whether that’s how to make them or how to play them. We’ll take a look at a specific game mechanic or designer’s trick, talk about where you may have encountered it in some of your favorite games; discuss why it works and how you can engage with it; and finally how you can use the game master’s tips and tricks to enhance your own gaming experiences!

Whether you’re a casual game fan or a hardcore gaming fanatic, this experience will give you something to wrack your brain over.

This experience is part of our partnership with Uncommon Goods, the place to discover unexpected gifts and experiences for everyone in your life (including yourself). We’ve teamed up to bring you one-of-a-kind online experiences that go behind the scenes with artisan makers and inspire you with insights into their creative journeys.
