In this special Pi(e) Day experience, join the Gastro Obscura team for a celebration of unique pies from around the world! We’ll dive into our Atlas of amazing food to bring you the most fascinating, and most importantly, delicious pies out there.
We love pie. During this one-hour live special Gastro Obscura's very own editors, Sam O'Brien and Anne Ewbank will walk you through the history and curious culinary corners of 3.14 (okay, four, but who's counting) incredible pies. Once you've learned about the where these peculiar pastries came from, we'll take a look at what the finished p(ie)roduct looks like and discuss what they actually taste like. Along the way, we'll play some pie trivia, get your tips and tricks for improving even the rarest pie, and answer any questions you might have baking in your mental oven!
After the experience we'll send you recipes for all of the pies they've discussed so that you can bake up some curious confections of your own!
Once registered, you can access the Zoom room for this experience through your confirmation email or Eventbrite account. Atlas Obscura online experiences are recommended for attendees age 13+.
