What We’ll Do

Time to explore one of the least visited parts of Manhattan that's not actually on Manhattan: Roosevelt Island! This tiny island in the East River has a long, fascinating, and complicated history, and hides some of the greatest views of the Manhattan skyline anywhere in the city. Join us as we take a ride on the nation's only commuter air tram to a lovely spit of land once known as "Damnation Island." We'll take a leisurely stroll down the edge of Roosevelt Island, down to Four Freedoms Park, one of the city's most alien and stunning monuments. Along the way we'll visit the island's oldest building and the island's newest landmarks, discovering the RI's true wonder, it's serene views of a usually chaotic city.

Where We’ll Be

On our leisurely paced walking tour, some of the spots w'll visit could include:
- The Roosevelt Island Tram
- Roosevelt Island's Oldest Building
- The Roosevelt Island Visitor's Center Historic Building
- Cornell Tech's futuristic new campus.
- Southpoint Park
- Renwick Smallpox Hospital Ruins
- Four Freedoms Park
- Strecker Laboratory
- And more!
