Licorice is extremely popular in the Netherlands, where it is known as “drop.” Dutch diners consume it as candy, mixed in ice cream, and even in alcohol.

“Drop Shot” is an inky black, licorice-flavored liqueur that comes in two varieties. There’s the sweet-and-herbal “original,” and the “double black,” which offers the full flavor-punch of salty licorice.
