Marketing Copywriter

Atlas Obscura, the definitive guide to the world’s hidden wonders, is seeking a full-time Marketing Copywriter to join its award-winning Marketing and Audience team in Brooklyn. The writer will primarily support marketing campaigns that increase trip bookings and will also craft inspired, strategic copy for brand, product, events, and other campaigns.

  • Write and edit copy for Trips, brand, and other marketing campaigns;
  • Produce and edit copy for new products and their marketing launches;
  • Proofread external-facing decks and presentations;
  • Occasionally write and edit trip listings;
  • Pitch in on creative marketing brainstorms.
  • 1-3 years in marketing copywriting experience for a tour operator, live experiences company, or agency representing travel or experiences companies;
  • Demonstrated experience bringing marketing briefs to life: writing, testing, and versioning copy to achieve business goals, including conversions and engagement;
  • Experience writing copy across many platforms, including Facebook, email, paid search, and on site;
  • Skilled at writing clean copy and cleaning up someone else’s dirty copy;
  • Experience working across teams with divergent feedback;
  • A hands-on attitude, a healthy sense of humor, and a passion for Atlas Obscura’s mission of finding and exploring the most unusual places on the planet.
