  • Manage a portfolio of small-group, domestic and international trips.
  • Research, design, and develop new itineraries, and continuously improve existing programming.
  • Confirm and manage all trip services—accommodations, transportation, meals, trip staff, etc.—with DMCs and other suppliers.
  • Manage deposits, payments, supplier terms, and budgets for all trips in your portfolio.
  • Serve as the primary contact for guides, fixers, and other suppliers.
  • In collaboration with our Guest Experience team, manage the flow of information between Atlas Obscura, our guests, guides, and local service providers.
  • Build and maintain destination knowledge through research about and occasional travel to the areas where we operate trips.
  • Work with a small, growing, ambitious team to help shape the future of Atlas Obscura’s Trips business.
  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally with a tour operator
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intuitive interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle complicated logistics
  • A creative and collaborative approach to trip design and development
  • Entrepreneurial instincts, a healthy sense of humor, and a passion for Atlas Obscura’s mission of finding and exploring the world’s hidden wonders

Preference given to candidates with:

  • Strong relationships and experience working with DMCs, guides, and other suppliers

Compensation is competitive and includes equity. Benefits for full-time employees include family health, dental, and vision plans and a generous vacation policy.
