The Unusual Sights of Manhattan's Financial District

An off-the-beaten-path walking tour of weird and wonderful sights at the tip of the Manhattan Isle.

The Financial District is the neighborhood at the very tip of Manhattan, so-called because it is home to the New York Stock Exchange, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and Wall Street. But there’s lots more to be seen in here in lower Manhattan.

When New York was New Amsterdam, this was its first neighborhood. The area is jam-packed with layers of the city’s history; each site has its own story to tell. Of course, we always endorse straying off the path and there are lots of other hidden wonders to be found in this neighborhood. If, while wandering through the FiDi, you happen to stumble across something incredible we’re missing, add it to the Atlas!
