Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park
Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States, was born near Hodgenville, Kentucky at Sinking Springs Farm. You can see the spring at the bottom of the first memorial dedicated to “Abe”. The memorial has many things in the building that represent Lincoln, including fifty-six steps leading up to the building for each year Lincoln lived. Sixteen windows in the building and sixteen rosettes on the interior ceiling are there to remind visitors that Lincoln was the sixteenth president.
10 Miles from the park is the Lincoln boyhood home at knob creek where he spent3 years of his youth. It’s located on highway 31E north of Hodgenville.
The memorial and museum are handicap accessible.
