Starting in the year 1980, Thera Lou & Henry Adams purchased land that originally belonged to Henry’s grandparents.  Not long after, they began to dig and plant old daffodil bulbs that they found at his grandparents’ old homeplace.

Originally, the field was planted so that Henry’s elderly father could enjoy the view of the field from across the road at his home.  Before they could finish planting the field, Henry Adams became severely ill and passed away from cancer after a three year battle.

After Henry passed, Thera Lou found that it helped her grieving to continue planting the field.  She finished by planting a total of four acres with blooming daffodils and in 1999, she opened her field to the public during peak bloom!  Sadly Thera Lou passed away in 2022 just short of her 89th birthday.

Today there are around 100 different varieties of daffodils and the community continues to celebrate Henry and Thera Lou’s mission and memory by keeping the park maintained and opened ONLY ONE WEEKEND PER YEAR during peak bloom!  There is also a pecan tree that is said to be over 120 years old!
