Bergendal Eco & Cultural River Resort is a unique resort in the middle of the beautiful jungle of Surinam. The resort is about one hour away by road and two hours by road and boat from Paramaribo and has facilities such as a wellness center, a lobby, two bars, restaurant, swimming pool and a shop where a souvenir, but also a nice cup of coffee can be achieved. You can choose to enjoy your rest or take one of the activities. There are various hiking trails from the resort, walks to spot the many birds in the area, canoe tours and a beautiful cable car.

The history of Berg en Dal begins in 1713, when a military post is established to protect the plantations on the Suriname River from attacking Maroon from the South.After this, gold was mined in the area and then plantations were planted, first sugar cane and later a wood plantation.Nowadays there is a beautiful resort and adventure center building, aimed at the tourist as well as the local Surinamese. The resort and the action center have cost over 6 million euros, of which a considerable part has been contributed by the Dutch Ministry of Development Cooperation. Berg en Dal is a very popular destination for both the Adventure Center and the Resort.
