Bernheim Arboretum Forest Giants
For their 90th anniversary, Bernheim welcomed Danish artist, Thomas Dambo, to construct three giant sculptures throughout the arboretum using recycled wood from the region.
Mama Loumari with her children, Little Nis and Little Elina, and her third baby Giant, who is currently living in Mama’s belly, have recently begun to call Bernheim Arboretum their home. You can find Mama Loumari relaxing and enjoying nature, while her two kids are out exploring. Little Elina loves to play with rocks while Little Nis is fascinated with his own reflection.
The Giants are within walking distance of each other; it’s an approximately 2-mile loop to see all three. While at Bernheim, you can also experience the Visitors Center, Kentucky’s first LEED® platinum building, a 961 ft Fire Tower, a Canopy Tree Walk that puts you 75 ft above the trees, an edible garden, and numerous public art installations.
