This 4.5-meter-tall statue of a native Australian bird marks Hydro Aluminium's 40th year in the area.

Based on the native Australian bird that is found in the area. The kookaburra is used locally as a symbol for various sporting and community groups and is featured in every one of a series of murals painted in the area.
The 4.5-meter-tall statue was erected in late 2009 to mark Hydro Aluminium’s 40th year in the area. The combined Hydro Aluminium and Kurri Kurri Tidy Towns project was created by Pokolbin artist Chris Fussel and is located in Rotary Park in the center of the town.
