Built in 1855, this building has been home to Bradley’s Lock & Key since 1883, and it is purportedly haunted!

According to lore shared on ghost tours that pass by this locksmith shop, tenants of the upstairs apartment have reported strange sounds and odors, telekinetic movement of objects, ghostlike figures, and other supernatural happenings.

Guides have also theorized that object attachment - the idea that spirits attach themselves to physical objects - may play a role in the reported hauntings, as there are countless old items to be found in the shop.

Contributing to the spookiness factor are the old skeleton keys imbedded in the concrete just outside the store, that spell out the word “Bradley’s.” Even a brief peek into the window reveals a world of anachronistic wonder.

Some posit that the ghost of Harry Houdini is among the spirits who haunt this place, but it’s hard to draw connections between the master escape artist and this obscure shop.

Whether haunted or not, the shop is an interesting place and a nod to bygone eras, guaranteed to unleash waves of nostalgia.
