Caesars palace digital marquee – Las Vegas, Nevada - Atlas Obscura

The strip in Las Vegas is often called the busiest street in the world, and not without reason as around 100,000 people walk over it each day. This makes it a prime location for advertisment, with ads everywhere fighting for your attention. A potential winner is the enormous marquee in front of Caesars palace, which is a unique type of screen.

The 85-foot tall screen was installed in 2017 and made to look like an ancient Roman gateway with two Corinthian-inspired columns on each side.

What makes it unique is that the entire structure is covered by curved LED panels, more than 6000 square feet to be precise, and all of them synced up to work as a single screen. This, in combination with high def subwoofers, allows the casino to project whatever they want on this complex structure, using the 3D shape to draw a lot of attention.

Most of the time the screen looks like a normal ad, which is held up by two lit up columns, but then the entire surface changes, flipping colors or getting covered in golden scales.

You will often seen people looking at it, wondering how it works. Looking for projectors or other ways for it to work, given that having LED screens in such a shape is not something you see each day.

The marquee is built by YESCO and designed by the Simon Property Group.
